With the completion of Highwater Inc.’s expansion and the start of construction at MARCOTTE (Usinage Marcotte), the consolidation of the industrial park in East Angus is taking shape. MARCOTTE’s new building on David-Swan Street will have 14,070 sq. ft. and 20 employees.<\/p>\n
In 2020, the City of East Angus will relocate its municipal garage to an adjacent building, which will be better adapted to today’s reality.<\/p>\n
Usinage Marcotte Inc. was founded in 1992 by Hugues Marcotte. Located in Barraute, the company consisted of Gabriel Marcotte (father), his son Hugues and two employees. This small business, occupying a workshop of barely 2,000 square feet, offered machining, welding and fabrication services to the forestry, mining and agricultural sectors.<\/p>\n
A desire for growth, a growing clientele, new challenges and an expanded product range fueled the company’s development, and in 1995 it moved to the Val-d’Or industrial park to offer better service.<\/p>\n
Today, MARCOTTE has 60 permanent employees working in two buildings in Val-d’Or and soon in East Angus, including an ultra-modern 3,000 sq. ft. paint shop and a 15,000 sq. ft. workshop with state-of-the-art equipment.
