Founded in Barraute, Quebec in 1992
USINAGE MARCOTTE was founded in Barraute, Quebec in 1992 by Mr. Hugues Marcotte. At the time, the company consisted of Gabriel Marcotte (father), his son Hugues and two employees. Occupying a workshop of 2,000 sq. ft., the small company offered machining, welding and fabrication services to the forestry, mining and agricultural sectors.
1995

1995
The shop was relocated
In 1995, the shop was relocated to Val-d’Or, Québec to increase its size to 4,000 sq. ft. and enable USINAGE MARCOTTE to serve its growing customer base more efficiently.
2002

2002
18 full-time employees
By 2002, the company’s workforce consisted of 18 full-time employees, plus a team of 16 to provide field support to customers. The company also began offering customized parts and equipment to its diamond drilling customers.
2020

2020
USINAGE MARCOTTE has expanded
Over the next ten years, USINAGE MARCOTTE expanded its facilities twice to reach a total area of 15,000 sq. ft. It built a 3,000 sq. ft. paint shop and acquired a new 5,000 sq. ft. building to centralize its machining division. With 60 employees working in its technical department, a growing administrative team and an impressive team of welders, machining technicians and mechanics, the company has acquired sophisticated machine tools and a large plasma cutting table.

Today, MARCOTTE has 63 permanent employees working in five different locations: a 15,000 sq. ft. building housing administrative offices, the main welding shop and a warehouse; a 13,800 sq. ft. welding shop; a 5,000 sq. ft. machine shop; a 5,000 sq. ft. facility dedicated to assembly, testing and product development; and a 3,000 sq. ft. paint shop.
