Annonce de l'appui du DÉC. aux entreprises qui innovent pour le secteur de mine de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue

The Government of Canada has just announced major financial support for the mining sector in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, once again confirming the strategic importance of this region for the Canadian economy. As part of this large-scale initiative totalling $2.4 million, Usinage Marcotte stands out by receiving a substantial contribution of $208,000 to modernize its equipment and optimize its drilling manufacturing activities

This announcement, made on August 25th in Val-d’Or by Carlos Leitão, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry, on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development (CED), demonstrates the federal government’s confidence in Quebec manufacturing companies that fuel the mining ecosystem.

A Strategic Investment in Innovation and Productivity

The funding granted to Marcotte is part of a broader modernization initiative for Quebec’s mining sector. As a manufacturing company specializing in value-added services for major clients in the mining industry, Marcotte plays a crucial role in the sector’s supply chain.

The investment of more than half a million dollars will allow the company to reach an important milestone in pursuing its digital transformation. The acquisition of modern equipment and optimization of operational processes will position Marcotte as a technological leader in its field, capable of meeting the growing demands for efficiency and precision in the mining sector.

This contribution will enable Marcotte to acquire cutting-edge digital equipment and optimize all of its manufacturing activities and value-added services.

A Joint Announcement Benefiting the Entire Regional Mining Ecosystem

The government announcement is not limited to Marcotte. It is part of a global vision for developing the mining sector in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, recognized as one of Canada’s most dynamic mining hubs. Alongside Marcotte, four other companies benefit from this federal support:

  • Techni-Lab S.G.B. Abitibi
  • Arkys Web Software
  • ASDR Canada
  • HydroTech Mining

This collaborative approach demonstrates that the success of a company like Marcotte is part of a network of innovation and complementarity that strengthens the entire sector..

A Vision for Marcotte’s Future

Thanks to this federal support, Marcotte now has the necessary resources to pursue its growth. The acquisition of digital equipment will allow the company to significantly improve its productivity, optimize the management of its activities, and strengthen its competitive position in the market.

This technological modernization also opens the door to new business opportunities and the development of even more specialized services to meet the evolving needs of the mining industry. By relying on optimized processes and state-of-the-art equipment, Marcotte will be better positioned to support its clients in their own transformation and operational efficiency challenges.

CED’s investment in Marcotte demonstrates mutual confidence: that of the federal government in a company that has proven itself, and that of Marcotte in the future of Quebec’s mining sector. This promising synergy bodes well for sustainable and prosperous economic development for Abitibi-Témiscamingue and the entire Canadian mining and manufacturing sectors.

This announcement once again confirms Marcotte’s strategic role in Quebec’s mining ecosystem and its commitment to operational excellence and technological innovation.
